wooden world: board beaters
Knocking
Here's a knocking indeed
Indeed here's a knocking
The noise from the neighbor's
Bedpost banging the wall
We're all banging the blocks
Together we're knocking
On walls of forests the trees

l vid
rising like a yeasty dough
out and out and all
'cause I'm gonna get the seat
in the window street
where I can watch
the indifferent drummers beat

state logic: 78,000,000
From state logic, the band that gave us Chinese cover versions of James Bond movie music and a Chinese version of Caberet, comes a new album about historical relevance and political silence: 78,000,000. Calls to action include "take your fate" and "walk in the forest," but "currency in people" and "don't take the train" are perhaps the most memorable.

organelles
Rather Dissect
Sometimes you dissect me
Sometimes it's the other way around
Sometimes you make me nervous
Like the time I cut off my fingertips
Chopping carrots
Sometimes you dissect me
Sometimes it's the other way around
Sometimes my medicine doesn't work
Especially when you use it to dose yourself
Leaving the remainder watered down
Sometimes you dissect me
Sometimes it's the other way around

In Them
The In Them Anthem
Not sure what the world has in them
In them are teeth and eyes and truth
In them whose teeth and eyes and truth
Constitute our disguise of youth
For the mask we wear today is all
In them our historic proof

fables: fables and more fables
Remember the time you told the story that the hostess at the hotel where your family was staying on vacation in Orlando when you were fourteen had a naughty date with you or the time when you were seventeen and you helped a cheerleader fix her flat tire and she gave you tickets to the big game and then you went to this crazy party after the game and danced with the entire cheerleading squad and spent the night at that cheerleader's apartment along with five of her cheerleader roommates or the time when you had the internship at your uncle's company and you were helping one of the secretaries put out the cake and punch because somebody at the office had just received a huge promotion and that secretary took you in an empty office and thanked you about ten times? Well, this album is for you! Remember when you were fifteen and your babysitter was eighteen? Yes, that story too. And the one about your new apartment when the next door neighbor dropped her keys and you helped her pick them up? Yes, that one too. About three hundred times over. What about the car wreck and all the beautiful nurses at the hospital who gave you extra care for two weeks until your recovered and even visited you at your apartment? Yes. All your fables are here, on this album. Hear what your stories sound like when you don't tell them.

dirty spice: shake shack
I put the ribs on the grill
With extra herbs and skill
I turned the heat on high
And smoked spiraled sky
I made a good rub rub rub
And pulled the pork double dub
I made my wife a drink with ice
--She said, "I want my dirty spice"
I went to buy her rum but by the time I returned
That pig was a skeleton
I love my hungry wife, I love my hungry wife
She likes her pig with dirty spice
